Make Your Own Chai Spice Blend

chai spice recipe

When I was in high school & college, one of my favorite things to do (and spend my hard-earned money) was a Chai Tea Late with soy milk from Starbucks.

I would roll into Starbucks like the rich and famous, make my special order, sprinkle extra cinnamon on top, and float on a cloud with my steamy cup of heaven. It was about $4.25 back then (about an hours wage…am I dating myself a bit?) and that was a lot. But it was totally worth it….because of well, chai.

Fast forward 17 years and I love chai just as much, but don’t really go to Starbucks anymore, I make my own chai! Chai spice is such a great thing to have for tea, coffee, smoothies, desserts. And its a great gift too (ps, the teachers love it)! If you love chai, then you will want to have this on hand in the fall and winter. The spices in chai are also very nutritious for your body! Cinnamon & ginger are great for your immune system & digestion, cardamon and allspice has large amounts of anti-oxidants and cancer fighting properties.
